  1. Glidden and Quick Hide

yes, Glidden from Home Depot, cheaper there, same quality.

Behr is over priced, all in the name, rip off and so is Sherwin Williams.

  2. Home Depot's Behr brand is the best by far.

  3. Consumer Reports has rated Behr very highly in most areas they test.

  4. depends on your own taste

    Home depot brands

Behr - best coverage easy cleanup

Ralph Lauren - Amazing colors, for experienced painters, expensive.

Glidden - Low cost, Lower quality, contractor grade

i was a manager with Home Depot for a number of years and can only attest to there brands. As far as the other brands i have used Benjamin Moore paints great color selection higher end cost but great results.

Your paint job will only come out as good as the time you put into it, prep and good products will make all the difference.

  5. Any painter will tell you that It is not the paint but the Prep that makes a good paint job, I would go with a Sherwin Williams if you have on in your area, Either indoor or out you should wash the area and prime the bare spots and be sure it is dry enough before you paint, High humidity means the paint won't last, to low and it won't last either. If you could wait until the rainy season is over then wait, it would mean that much longer and then some before you have to do it again and you won't have to look at a kids paint job for years.

  6. behr paint at home depot got top marks at consumer reports. i like sherwin williams paint myself (not the cheap stuff though). and use a good primer.

  7. I am no expert but I have had the best luck with Behr paints that I have gotten from Home Depot.

  8. I like Glidden from Home Depot.

  9. I assume you did a good prep work so from the choices above I would pick the Behr but has to be the premium grade. It's a big difference while painting it will give you large coverage and it was rated #1 last year. Another company to consider is Benjamin morr. I've used them for years.

  10. I've tried every paint on the market. For normal painting - ie: walls that won't have lots of handprints/touching, etc., any paint is fine, but for durability - ie: in institutions, or in homes with kids, or on floor surfaces - the 2 absolute best paints are Ace Royal (from Ace Hardware) and Benjamin Moore. And yes - your previous poster is correct - prep, prep, prep - it can't be left undone for a quality and lasting finish.
