Whitby...uk?

anyone from here or been here?

i am going this weekend for 4 days and want to take my little cousins on either thr ghost walk or the dracula walk..which is better

what else can we do there

There are various museeums and you can take boat trips round the bay. As well as climb the 199 steps. Have a great time.

I love Whitby!  

Not sure how old the cousins are but some of these ghost walks have a no under 16/18 policy so you'll have to check that out, but if they can go, both the walks sound good - I'd probably want to do both if I had the chance.

Fish and chips are a must - I always have them in Whitby.  

When we go there we enjoy going around the head shops - the ones that sell all the trinkets and healing stones and stuff and I also like going to the arcade for an hour or so of playing those machines that you put your 2p's in and they all fall down (sorry - that's really lame, but I love playing them LOL!)

I like to walk up the 99 steps (or however many it is)  to the Abbey and have a wander around there and also walk along the cliffs.

If you go inland, Gothland is nice (where they film Heartbeat) - very twee but picturesque.  You can get the steam train there from Whitby now as they've extended the line, so that might be an interesting couple of hours.

Danby (or Dalby - can't remember) forest drive is good too if you've got a car.  It's near Pickering.

Well there is a beach but its not very pleasant...

they are famous for there fish and chips :)

Apart from London, Whitby is my favourite place in the UK. Its beautiful, quaint, charming and relatively unspoilt as a lot of seaside resorts in the UK are. I havent been on either of the walks, but id say do both! The beach is lovely, the surrounding countryside is lovely, and be sure to visit robin hoods bay. Enjoy.
