Look at these questions and tell me why the response to one was greater than the other. What does this reveal about the Yahoo community? Why is the guy wanting to live among whites a "racist" and the guy wanting to live among blacks not?

  1. because people are quick to jump to conclusions and insult people.

  2. Thats just the way it is inni.Cos of the slavery and everything that happened in history when black people suffered a great deal.

  3. well, for one, a lot of the answers probably came before everyone realized the guy was "black."  I mean, let's face it.  when you say that you want to move somewhere to avoid a whole demographic, all signs point to a negative outlook toward those people, whether as a whole or or not.  and a negative outlook towards one or more demographics points towards racism.  the guy who wants to live among blacks, especially since he is "white" is thought to be sensitive to the needs and understands the demographic as a whole.  the "community" as a general population consensus believes in being tolerant of those who fall into a different demographic than yourself, and tolerance of others in general.  personally, I feel this speaks well towards the people of Yahoo! because they are trying to say "well, what makes you think that living among those you prefer is better than living among those you don't?"
