White Plains residents, do you know...?

Is there any public transportation that leads to the Walmart store in White Plains on Main Street? I think I heard somewhere that the 5 bus goes around there, but I'm not sure. If the 5 does go that way, is there connection from the 60 bus, or am I wrong altogether?

  1. Several Bee-Line routes run right up Main St, most stopping at the corner of Main and Court St.  After that some continue up Main to stop at Broadway.  Either stop is about a block from Walmart.  Route 5 turns left from Main onto EJ Conroy Dr, which is on the side of the Walmart building.  The 5 then continues east and ends in Harrison.

The 60 starts in the Bronx near Fordham and runs through New Rochelle and up the LI Sound shore before turning up Mamaroneck Ave (in Mamaroneck) and heading directly to White Plains.  You can get off the 60 on Martine Avenue 1 block west of Mamaroneck Ave and walk 3 few blocks northeast, or continue on to the Transcenter and transfer (free) to the 5 to go directly to Walmart.  Given the wait for the 5, it's easiest to just walk from Martine and Mamaroneck.  Route 62 is an express version of the 60.  It also starts at Fordham, but skips many intermediate stops while ending up at the same place in downtown White Plains.

Regardless, if you can get to the Transcenter, you can get to the Route 5 and go directly to Walmart.  Route 6 also stops there.  It begins in Yonkers, like the 5, but takes a different route to get to White Plains.
