I think it's a good deal. The White Sox don't appear to be losing too much and this deal could help the offense.

I'm thinking that Nick Swisher goes to 1st for this to help, but I'm not sure what Ozzie will do.

But yes as a White Sox fan I think this will boost the offense.

If JR is playing Center Field, then I think this was a horrid trade.  It is going to be an ugly adventure in Center.

If he plays a corner OF or DH, then it is a good trade.

I pray Kenny has more trades/moves for the day.

Personally, I don't like the trade one bit. The White Sox were winning just fine without Griffey. A 38 year old on the decline can't help the White Sox too much. He has slowed a bunch, and isn't the nicest guy in the clubhouse. Now, there has to be a lot of shifting.

But one thing I liked a bunch about the White Sox was the team chemistry around the clubhouse. Griffey brings none of that. I just think that a 38 year old hitting .245 can help an offense this much! He is sure to keep getting worse as the years go on, and the Sox are going to be wasting a bunch of money on him next year, even though the Reds are paying some.

im not a sox fan, but i think it was a horrible trade.

look at it this way,

In left field, you have quinten, and in right you have dye. now putting griffey in center would be not so smart, because hes old and isnt fast enough.

so unless you can move dye to center, i dont know where to put griffey.
