White Sox GM Rick Hahn believes he has enough pitching depth for next season – MLB Update
Many believed that after Mark Buehrle’s exit, the White Sox do not possess the right kind of pitching depth which is needed to win championships.
However, these experts are now getting answers from White Sox’s new general manager Rick Hahn who believes that his team has enough pitching depth for the next Major League Baseball seasons.
He thinks that if some of the senior starters do feel their responsibility and show their natural and true talents on the mound, the White Sox will be a team to watch next season.
He recently spoke to a press conference and talked about in detail for the White Sox. Especially he explained in the media that White Sox has some of the next pitchers in the league and if they perform as one unit, they will be successful and compete well against the giants of American as well as National League.
With Peavy, Floyd and left hander Chris Sale, Jose Quintana and Hector Santiago have enough fire power to lead from the front.
“It’s nice to be able to insulate and not rush that, We always prefer to have more depth than less with pitching,” Hahn said in detail.
Hahn added, “We’ll take whatever time that matters, But if it takes until December or January, as it did in the ’04 winter when we signed [Tadahito] Iguchi and Pierzynski, so be it.”
Rick also talked about Kevin Youkilis and explained in the media, “This is the first time Kevin has had a chance to be out on the open market, But he knows there is no confusion in his mind about our desire to bring him back. So we’re going to stay on that, stay in communication.”
According to Hahn, Jake Peavy is his star performer and in the next season, he will be one player, who could the success factor for the White Sox.
Peavy is a well established player and knows his game well. This past season he finished with 3.37 ERA along with 11-12 win-loss, 194 strike-outs and 1.10 WHIP as he remained a top performer in the White Sox roster.
