White Water Rafting?

Question

Anyone ever been white water rafting? Was it fun? Did anyone get hurt? Was it scary? Lol. I have to go in about one month and I am so scared! It would be way more helpful if you could tell me if it was in Ocoee TN (or AL), thats where I'm going.

Yep; my first time we went on a serious grade and several people got injured...I went to hospital...but I've done it again. The most important thing is to go with a guiding company that's got a good rep and listen to what they say when they take you through the briefing...it's great to push yourself outside your comfort zone...the chances of anything bad happening are really small...go for it and you'll love yourself at the end of it.

I went white water rafting in WV twice.  Even though safety is very important, you shouldn't be so concerned or scared about it.  They showed us a safety video and we had to sign our "death" forms.  It wasn't really comforting but we soon forgot about all that and had sooooo much fun!!!  Nobody died or got hurt... Just enjoy and have fun~~~

I've taken two trips down the Ocoee and I plan on taking my oldest in September for his birthday.  Yeah, I felt that safe and it was that much FUN!  It's amazing!

Sure, one guy got thrown out, but that was because he was goofing off and not anchored in the boat the way  he should have been.  He was fine.  With his life vest on he popped right up.

Enjoy yourself.  It is SO much fun!

i have been whitewater rafting in colorado noth carolina and pennsylvania and its incredibly fun this summer i am whitewater kayking and no one i have seen has gotten hurt if they follow the loose guidelines. most places will let you jump out of the boat between rapids and have water fights too. so enjoy yourselves and follow the guidelines.

oh by the way the only time i have been scared on a whitewater trip is my first class 5 rapid and after that i was enjoyin it so much.
