My 23 month old daughter has white blisters on the tip of her tongue also around the edges of the tongue towards the front. She had ran a high fever for about 2 days. I know there painful because she won't eat. Sometimes she will refuse her bottle. But other times she drinks it all day w/ no problem. This has been going on about 3 days. Any idea what it could be? Thanks!!!

  1. I'd call her doctor.  It sounds like thrush, and she'll need medication.

  2. It sounds like qankers from acidic food or too much juice. If she drinks juice ,mix half of it with water. and for the summer give her lots of room tempempure water with a touch of honey in it, not sugar, Sugar will make her hyper but honey makes the water sweet without any bad side effects cause it's natural. Try that

  3. My daughter had the exact same thing a few months ago, it was hideous.  She was crying non stop for three days because she couldn't eat or drink.  Her breath smelled disgusting and she was constantly drooling and started getting sores on her chin.  I thought for sure it had to be hand, foot and mouth disease, but since the blisters were only in her mouth it was not on her hands or feet.  It was diagnosed as a "viral infection", basically a form of herpes ... that doesn't mean she'll get cold sores from now on or anything, it's a one time thing.  But what bothered me is that there is no treatment for it, you just have to wait for it to go away on it's own.

Take her to see your doctor as soon as possible, if there is something out there to help her feel better you want to do it right away!

    Good luck!

  4. maybe thrush mouth which can be taken care of with antibiotics...you should call the doc and see what they think.

  5. hand foot and mouth which my daughter had, but just broke out on her hands and feet.  i also had it and so did my husband and i had a sore throat and blisters on my hands and feet, also a fever that only lasted one day.  NOW, my husband gets cold sores, and we all know how contagious they are.  We were always careful when he would break out iwth one, which would be triggered from the sun.  And my daughter got the virus, and broke out with all sorts of canker sore looking things inside her mouth, and tongue and wouldn't eat anything, and ran a high fever.  The dr said that initially especially when a child gets it taht they break out like this, inside their mouth.  so it may be this too.  if she still has a fever tommorrow take her to the dr.  good luck!!

  6. sounds like thrush. take her to your doctor.

  7. I think it probably is tonsillitis. Here's wikipedia's link, with some pictures that you can compare. I've had this several times =/ painful. I'd take her to the doctor as soon as you can.

Good luck, and hope she gets better!!

  8. could be a form of strep.  Take her to the Doctor tomorrow.

  9. Sounds like thrush, but my question for you is why a two year old drinks from a bottle, and she "drinks it all day".  Didn't your doctor tell you to get her a cup so her teeth don't rot out?  It might go away if you give her yoghurt and no sugar whatsoever.

  10. Take her to the doctor.  My grandson had the same and it was thrush.  They gave him medicine that relieved the pain.  I would worry about her being 23 months and still having a bottle.

  11. Sounds like Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. Do a quick search for that. My daughter got that once too, and it was pretty miserable. Treatable, but uncomfortable.

  12. this sounds like THRUSH (yeast infection). no fun at all!! you will need to take her to the doctor to get put on medication and you will need to sterilize everything!!! her cups, pacifiers, toys, etc. throw away toothbrush and get a new one after the infection is gone. this is highly contagious and will not go away on its own.
