White puerto ricans?

My best friend is puerto rican and his family is vary european and they dont like dark skind people my family is the same way why is that.

  1. Um well this is under COSTA RICA.

    Totally different countries.

    And yes alot of Latin Americans look "white."

    They are called White latin Americans.

The settlers were mostly Spanish and Portuguese, the post-independence immigrants were mostly Italian.   2. His family may be related to the European whites that ruled Puerto Rico in the past and have a built in bias against anyone that isn't white or fair skinned. Too bad.
