White puffs on my lawn are becoming a menace!?

There is a tree behind our house near my waterfront and during the summer these white puffs fall off the tree and land directly into my backyard! These puffs only fall around once a summer and my yard is huge and i mean huge! So I find myself looking stupid picking up these little white puffs one by one. So, i need to know, does anyone have a good way to get rid of these white puffs! I already tried raking it up!

  1. Cut the tree down.  If it is a tree like the Cottonwood this will happen every year as it is what the tree does.  The only way to get rid of this is to take the tree down.

  2. They sound like the seed capsule from whatever tree that is......or the male or female flower.  Alas, like horny teenagers, you can't stop the tree from having s*x.  No solution other than removing the tree........and since it's not yours, not a good idea.

Think of it as good exercise or pay a neighbor kid to do the work.

  3. Aha! You live near a cottonwood tree. Those really are a nuisance, aren't they? It takes about four or five days for all the seeds to drop. Wait until they have dropped and then use a leaf blower. to move them all to one location in a corner area, and then pick them up with a dustpan, as a rake will not get the job done because of their size. You can wet them down a bit to make them more controllable if you need to.

  4. How about a pull behind your atv or mower lawn sweep?
