White spot in throat?

i hav a white spot in the back of my throat and its very red and sore, the doc says its nothing but i also feel worn out and acke. i hav had 5 weeks off work and due back next week. help.???

Your doctor said it was nothing? Did he do a culture? Here's my thing, If a doctor say "Its nothing" and does no test, he is hoping it is nothing and wants to wait until you are suffering or have greater symptoms before doing what he/she is supposed to do.  Go back, tell him you WANT to know what it is.

It sounds like strep throat.  If your doctor didn't do a culture and clammed it's nothing, time to see another doctor.  If it is strep, you will be put on antibiotics and be back to work in no time.  Good luck and feel better soon.

Dumb doctor! Sounds like strep throat to me. Go to another doctor or bug the one you have now more. Ask for a throat culture. (I think its spelled like that) They will swab your troat. Yes I hated it too. But they can tell then if it is or not. Strep throat is just a sickness you get over but med will help get over faster!

It sounds like strep throat to me. I had it last week and it was the worse. At first my throat was just sore and I was kind of achy. Within 48 hours I had a temp of 102.5 and felt like I was going to die. Some doctors don't give meds if you don't have a fever but I would have told him you are on advil so your fever is masked. You don't want to wait for it to get worse because I honestly just wanted to cry for hours that's how sick I felt. Good luck
