Question:

White strings hanging from my Oscar. Not plant roots or strings from clothing...any ideas?

  1. Actually, what your fish is suffering from is a fungal infection called Columinaris.  Left untreated, it can be deadly, but it's pretty slow moving, so as long as you act now your Oscar will be fine.  Just buy some anti-fungal treatment from your local petstore (the fish kind of course), and treat him.  Columinaris can be spread from fish to fish, so I would suggest treating the whole tank rather than quarantining and treating, but it's really up to you.

  4. It's just his p**p! That is how fish p**p...they just have this long string hanging from them, and it gets longer and longer until it just falls off, and then it will do it again...weird huh?
