I had my tonsils removed on 7/21.. In the back of my throat, in the holes left by the tonsils, is COVERED in white stuff... (eww).... what is the cause of this and is there a way to remove it? also, what is a good mouth wash to use to rinse the back of the throat? I use distilled water in a syringe and spray it in the back of the throat, but it doesnt get it quite clean enough...

  1. the tissue is healing, white dots are okay. if they told you it was okay to use a mouth rinse, use crest pro health, its like listerine with out the burning alcohol that will hurt your open raw tissue...

  2. ^^

    agree

Don't use Listerine or anything w/ alcohol in it, alcohol will dry out ur mouth & promote cavities. Garggle warm salt water it acts like saliva & will help the healing process.
