White stuff on my teeth?

Hi im 16 boy who has braces for a few months now. Tonight after brushing i notcied i had white stuff on my 4 front teeth towards the bottom of them. What is this and why did i get this all of the sudden? Thanks

Plaque comes in all pigments, depending on what you ate, drank, or smoked. Once hardened into tartar, it may remain white, brown, or black. Because you have just gotten braces, you might not yet be used to getting into all the new cracks and crevices. Ask your orthodontist for tips on getting a good, thorough brushing with your new hardware. I personally use an electric toothbrush, but I do not know if these my cause damage to braces. Another possibility is that they are calcium deposits. As your jaw grows, your dentin (the inside part of the tooth) also adjusts and expands. The outer part of your tooth (the enamel) is translucent and so the dentin shows through. The new dentin does not have the same level of impurities from your tooth nerves, and may seem white in comparison.  However, if this is a recent discovery, it is unlikely. Brush up, and if that doesn't work ask your dentist about the possibility of evening your tooth color with oxidation treatments.

It's probably plaque. You usually get it when you don't brush your teeth well enough. You probably just got it recently because it's harder to brush around the braces. The best thing to do about it is to brush from different angles to make sure you get all the way around the braces and under the wire. Your orthodontist could probably give you some tips about brushing around the braces.

It's plaque, you need to brush it off before it hardens, otherwise it'll become permanent...

Yup, its plaque. Use a sonic brush. That is what I used when I had braces.

it's not nessisarily plaque. sometimes it's glue, that you just haven't noticed yet, and it will fall off eventually.

also, the teeth can get random white spots on the teeth. i don't have a real explanation why yet, i can ask my mom when she's awake tho.
