White throated monitor?

i am picking up a monitor from a person, i would like to get rid of him. my wife wont have him. i can keep him for a few does anyone know where i can get sell him off at?

  2. You might try Craigslist, but you won't get much depending on it's size. Another thing is: People won't buy an older untame beast. The monitors can be as docile as the sweetest dog when tame, so check it out. A surrender fee ranges from $30 to $75 depending on location and whether or not they re-distribute it to the public or kill it. Don't take it if it will not sit on your arm or on your lap for an hour or more. They also frequently get worms, mites, and various disease. Have the prior owner take it to his vet and get the treatment first.

  3. craigslist.org is your best bet. If it's an actual white throated monitor and not a Savannah monitor, 80 bucks is a pretty good price. There's a good article on white throat monitors in the September 2008 issue of Reptiles magazine.
