Whiteball Help?

Hello there i want to no by someone that knows please when putting check side on whiteball makes the angle sharper when putting running side on whiteball makes the angle wider is that right but when putting bottom check or bottom running what does it do thanks

If I read right  bottom will -slow the ball down--stop it--or draw the ball -All depending on the stroke

English proper is either right or left of the vertical axis"A freind of mine named Straight Shooter_526 told me that!

Okay when using English you are imparting spin

to the object ball. Top ]  spin imparted from the

midline to the top portion of the ball makes it spin

toward the object ball as it moves forward on

impact making the object ball spin backwards

thus making the ball curve slightly to the rear.

When combined with right or left english it can

make a ball curve away from another ball or a

pocket.   When bottom is applied] the ball rolls

forward with a backspin  applied to the cueball.  

On Impact the cueball draws off the object ball but

imparts a forward spin to the object ball making

curve to the forward direction and slightly curving

usage is similiar to top but to attain a forward roll

on the object ball.  English is a learned application.

You get better at it by just practicing and spending

a little time watching what the cue ball does when

you apply certain english to the ball. Draw an invisible

line through the cueball top to bottom and side to

side directly in the middle. you will have 4 areas ;

Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right.

Take time and just practice hitting the cueball to

see what occurs when it impacts an object ball and

the result of the impact.  If your a beginning billiard

player it is wise to learn to shoot the ball solidly in

the center and learn application speed  If you have

difficulty shooting straight you have difficulty pocketing

the ball. English can come when you have proficiency

with the first skill.  Remember though the most important

thing is to enjoy billiards and have fun doing it.

Top and bottom don't have as much of an effect as side english does coming off the rail. What you'll tend to see though, is that the cue ball will curve slightly after coming off the rail at the angle determined more by the side spin. The curve is very slight, although there are ways to see it better. If you want to simplify it, though, follow will make the angle a little wider and draw will make it a little sharper. When you start combining it with side, it gets trickier to predict the exact angle, but it's not going to be as much as when you use full side.
