Whitening teeth with baking soda?

Is it true that baking soda whitens teeth? What do you have to do? Do you add water to the baking soda and swish it around your mouth, or what? please answer! Does this work really well?

  1. don't do it, its the worst thing you could do to your teeth, its worse than gargling with coke everyday.

    baking soda removes the enamel on your teeth, other whiteners do the same but not to as great a degree as baking soda

    just use white strips or go to the dentist

    or don't bother whitening your teeth cuz it usually looks bad and fake anyway unless your teeth are a deep shade of orange or yellow don't bother whitening especially not with baking soda

  4. I don't know about whitening, but I've been using baking soda ever since the scare of bad tooth paste coming into US markets from overseas. I'm scared, too, of all those whitening agents put in regular tooth paste. I don't think anyone knows the long-term affect of whiteners on teeth. It may be eating all the enamel off, and enamel is never replaced by the body.
