Question:

Whitewater rafting in the poconos?

I am going to Jim Thorpe in October and want to go whitewater rafting for the first time, but I am afraid the water is going to be very cold for me, and I don't know if the wet suit would protect me from getting cold. Has anybody done that in the Lehigh river before? please tell me your experience.

BTW I get cold easily

  1. I have never went in October, but I can bet that the water is going to be cold in October. There was frost in the area last night and when the weather gets gold like that the water becomes cold quick! Every year I go canoeing in the Delaware in July and sometimes the water is cold for me then!! but I can't tolerate cold water unless it is like 100 degrees out. Anyway, you'd better bundle up! there is also plenty to do in that area, in the fall, if you decide to not go in the water, like bike riding, hikes, or take a scenic rail tour. Here is a link of things to do-- Hope you have a good time!!!
