Whittle Murtagh set to blow away his opposition in Caffreys Puppy Classic - Heat 2 at Nottingham
Whittle Murtagh was one of the favourites in the Puppy Derby, but Farloe Warhawk proved too good for him at Wimbledon. As a result, the black dog could only seize the third place in the grand finale, held earlier this month.
In order to redeem respect and pride, which he lost following a bitter loss at Wimbledon, Whittle Murtagh has reached Nottingham, where he is all set to show his magic in the Caffreys Puppy Classic, getting underway on Monday, August 13th.
Heat 2 has attracted Whittle Murtagh and five other fast and furious hounds. Almost every participant has the ability to spring up a surprise, but Whittle Murtagh is facing a lot weaker opposition than the Puppy Derby finale.
Among his rivals in the 500 metres heat are: Skywalker Champ, Lightning Asset, Garlyn Rocky, Black Assassin and Romeo Connection.
K. Billingham’s trainee is more than capable of bowling these away in the opening exchanges, and once the black dog gets an advantage, he becomes uncatchable. The son of Premier Fantasy showed absolute dominance in the semi-final round of the Puppy Derby,
beating Bubbly Rossie by 4¾ lengths.
Confidence is no concern for the dashing hound and despite the fact that it will be his debut trip at Nottingham, one should think twice before looking elsewhere for the winner.
The red box is an advantage for Lightning Asset. Yet, the black dog cannot be trusted blindly because of his poor track record. He was at bottom of the table at Perry Barr last week.
Despite the fact that Black Assassin is not in good form these days, one should not ignore his chances over 500 metres, as this distance should suit him.
Romeo Connection is an in-form local hound, but this is a big step in class. Skywalker Champ has not yet succeeded in delivering his best, and only an upset can take him to the glory. Garlyn Rocky’s recent performances are not fascinating at all.
Whittle Murtagh seems to the strongest runner in today’s race. He just needs to give his one hundred percent in order to thrive. Good luck to all the runners.
