  1. Boot up the OS CD, when you reach the partitions delete all of them by pressing D, next press C to re-install windows on a new partition.

  2. What are the versions that it displays? More then likely it is safe mode, or just a duplicate name for your real version of XP.

Try rebooting to the alternate version, if it has your same user accounts/user settings, then it is just an alternate link. Don't worry about it, it's not worth the extra couple bytes that you would save from deleting it.

  3. If all you are wanting to do is remove it from the boot menu...

    Boot into Windows

    Click on Start, then Run

    Type in: msconfig

In the window that appears go to the "boot.ini" tab

You will see a check boot to "Check all boot paths"

Check that and it will tell Windows to check the menu, and make sure all the options work, otherwise it should remove them from the menu

Usually that will correct the problem

If it does not, you can manually edit the menu to remove the item from the same msconfig page.

  4. if you delete partition it will erase all data....
