Frank D, well you may not like his style but Cory Spinks has fought excellent competition...Zab Judah twice, Ricardo Mayorga, Jermaine Taylor, Roman Karmazin and Michele Piccirillo twice. He has said he wants to unify and is definitely the most legitamate belt holder at light middleweight right now. Whether he can or not is what I'm asking you. Vernon Forrest has one belt and Joachim Alcine another and Sergei Dzindziruk the last. Most other divisions aren't even close to a unification and maybe Spinks isn't too close either but if he does manage it he will be the first fighter to unify all the belts in two divisions - welterweight and light middleweight.

  1. I like Pavlic im sure thats going to be the popular anwser but, I believe he would fight either Diaz or Spinks if im correct, and I think Taylor would actually beat both of them so im going Pavlic or Klitcko just because of the joke that the heavyweight division is.

  2. pavlik.

  3. Diaz or Pavlik they both are fighting in divisions where this would be easy to pull off i will probably say Pavlik though as he wont have as much competition, Katsidis might well knock Diaz out even though Juan is the better boxer.

Cant believe you mentioned Cory Spinks he is an example of everything that is wrong with boxing nowadays the coward.

  4. Alright man..........this could be a long answer.....i'm going to type while i think this one out.............I believe that Klitchko has the least chance out of the bunch not because I think he wouldn't beat the other guys or even that he won't try to get those shots, but I thought I heard that after his last fight that his brother Vitali had said something about fighting one of the other champs........i think the winner of Maskaev/Peter.............i'm thinking that if that's true and he comes into the fight in boxing shape that he has a good shot of getting one of the titles.............the Klitchko's have said over and over that they wouldn't fight each other so that means that Vladimir couldn't unify the titles due to his brother holding one.  I would have to imagine that if Vladimir knows that Vitali is coming back that that would cause him to at least lay off of gaining one of the belts because what would there be for Vitali to do in boxing if there are no belts left and he won't fight his brother??

I'm trying to look at the champions right now on ESPN and man this is confusing.........they've got Superchampions, Interim Champs and regular champs in some of these boxing divisions.............it looks like Juan Diaz I think holds 3 of the 4 belts right now and the only person he's need to fight to unify all 4 is David Diaz..........both fighters are fighting in the next 2 weeks or so....the timing is there to get it done after their next fights if they both win..........he's very very close..........looks like the only thing that could get in his way at this moment is the Pacman.............if Diaz goes wants the money and if the Pacman gets by Marquez then unifying the titles could be put on the back burner for a while.

Looks like Spinks has to get all 3 other titles to get it done and that would take a decent amt of time even if he fought all the other champs back to back............I think Diaz would get it done before Spinks because he has less belts to aquire to get it done..........but it does look like Spinks will not be tempted to move up or down.............I think he's at the right weight class for him and he knows it now.

Pavlik is pretty interesting.............he had his chance to come out after the catch weight fight and say that he was moving up to super middleweight but he had chosen to stay in the middleweights which means that his goal is to unify the titles..............He has 2 of the 4 belts and it's not usual that a young kid like that takes 2 more tough fights after he just got done fighting two tough ones against Taylor........i expect as i've been hearing that he'll take an easier fight next and then turn his attention to taking on one of the other champs..........

well man..........i've rampled on here writing my thoughts pretty much as I think them so I guess my answer hinges on the Pacman/Marquez fight..................I know you think that the Pacman is going to win the fight and I think that Marquez is going to take it............I think if Pacman wins then he'll be seriously considering moving up and taking on Juan Diaz and therefore postponing Diaz unifying the titles.............if Marquez wins the Pacquiao fight then I think that Diaz's only choice after the Nate Campbell fight is to seek out David Diaz and attempt to unify the titles.

Man.........that's alot of writing just to come to a "if this happens and that happens"answer.............I do think it's between Pavlik and Diaz as to who will unify first...........I wasn't really thinking about that with the Klitchko bro's until i started typing this thing up..........but it makes sense to me.     So here is the order I think they should be in according to their chances of unifying the titles first.

    1.Juan Diaz

    1a.  Kelly Pavlik

    2.Cory Spinks

    3.Wladimir Klitchko

  5. Juan Diaz will unify first.  The reason,  no one cares about, and most dont even know, the other champions.  Casamayor is boring and on his way out.  There is nothing to lose by unifying the lightweight title and nothing to gain but keeping them split.

Corey Spinks is garbage and no one cares if that title is unified.  The party will go on AROUND him and if he's not included, so what.

Pavlik is exciting and there are other big names in the Middleweight Division.  There is a chance it might be unified but Pavlik doesnt need any of the other names in the division so its up to him.   If he can make more money fighting others who dont happen to hold a piece of the title,  so be it.

The Heavyweight division is too muddled in politics.  We wont see a unification of the title anytime soon.

  6. Hard to say because it's all politics, it's up to the promoters, not the fighters.

  7. It wouldnt be hard for any of them... I can see Klitchko beating anyone in the heavyweight division... i see pavlik beating anbody at 160... and i see juan diaz beating everyone at lightweight too... if their weight division was as hard as the welterweight division, supermiddleweight, and superfeather weight, than no... but if i had to chose one, i'll choose pavlik, just because he proved to me that he can go all 12 rounds... plus he beat jermaine taylor twice... thats already good on his resume...

  8. Calzaghe has already got every belt at 168.

    He just vacated his IBF.

  9. juan diaz is the closest to doing so, klitchko could if would fight one of the two other alphabet belt holders, cory spinks also has a legit chance, seeing that the other belt holders are already in there late 30`s, and as for kelly pavlik, he has as best a shot as diaz, but diaz has the greatest shot than all of them , he only needs the wbc belt , the ring champion and possibly his biggest threat joel casamayor, is already in his

twilight as a ring preformer at 36, i mean he could get the unified belt but keeping it , ....whole nother ballgame, amir khan has been on the rise since the olympics at 16-0 (12) but his biggest threats would be in the power punching greek auzzie michael katsidis, and american anthony peterson.
