  1. Steve Walsh. He provides a no nonsense flowing  uncontroversial game with his refreeing performance. Had a bad run a couple of years ago but has relly lifted performance in last couple. Very polite as well. Has good relations with players on the field.

  2. kaplan is a good ref and so is steve walsh. I also like joel jute from Fance. Not to sure on the spelling.

  3. Steve Walsh!...

  4. All equally bad, since Andre Watson retired he was way above anyone even our own Paddy O'Brien. Unfortunitly Paddy has done little in his job to bulid the standard or refs. How many more games have to be decided by a bad ref's call.

  5. Jonathan Kaplan gets my vote, he isn't pedantic on the whistle and prefers to play a good advantage to let the game flow more freely.

Not a fan of Steve Walsh after his repeated blunders on the whistle in the final few minutes of the 2007 Super 14 final cost my favoured Sharks the trophy.

  6. As a Wallaby/Waratah supporter, I would be pleased to have a kiwi referee any game whether we are playing the ABs or a NZ super 14 side.

Since Andre's passing as a referee after he retired there is no replacement in SA to do lines let alone referee a first class game. Last Saturday's AB and Wallaby game was great, but how much better would it have been with a decent ref like, Walsh or Bray or Leckie.
