We all tell ourselves "but they are so chic they can definately be worn again!"

Seriously though, who has actually done so. Prom doesn't count.

  1. Never. The problem is that they are all satin and that fabric makes most of the dresses too fancy to be worn again. I can't wear them to a formal wedding because I'll look like I'm trying to be a bridesmaid!

  2. i have. they were cute summery dresses. nothing wrong with it.

  3. I have...

I was Matron of Honor for my sister's wedding...she selected a beautiful halter style A line dress with an empire waistline...the material was a soft knit that draped beautifully and the color was a deep burnt orange...since she had a winter wedding, we wore long sleeved bolero jackets in chocolate velvet and had matching feathered headpieces and hand muffs....

I wore the dress part of the outfit at several dif formal events (not anyone's wedding and dif people with each event)...I had purchased gold dress sandals and a gold & black knit wrap and no one could tell it was originally part of a bride's maid outfit....lol

  4. I have, but it shouldn't really count because our "bridesmaid dresses" were actually black cocktail dresses of our own choosing. I've never reworn a bridesmaid dress that actually looked like a bridesmaid dress.

  5. I haven't but a few of my bridesmaids have!  My sister picked out the dress - it was a dress from Banana Republic.  It was a strapless party dress that they were selling around christmas.  It is a nice soft jersy fabric in a cranberry color.  I few of the girls have worn them to parties, and one of the girls lent it to her sister to wear at a formal dance.  By not buying at a bridal store, they really did get dresses they could wear again!

  6. I rewore one of my bridesmaids dresses. It was Black & Red & I wore it for a Christmas dinner....I also have worn it to work a few times.....

  7. Some of my girls had them shortened to party length or tea length and rewore them.

  8. My MOH did.  The dress she wore to my wedding she wore as a bridesmaid at another wedding.

We wanted to buy her something she would wear again but she it not a dressy girl at all, and she had this one in her closet and it matched perfectly!

  9. I used the skirt to make a spaghetti strap shirt to wear to evening parties.  It was not a dress I could have worn to some other occasion.  Too flashy for my normal dress style.

  10. I haven't but the bridesmaid dress I wore looks more like a mother of the bride dress, not a dres a 20 something would wear.

  11. I have two really ugly ones I've since parted with and two really cute ones that I've worn.

One was a cap sleeved, light and airy, chocolate dress that I wore on three job interviews, a family reunion, and a church picnic.

One was a jet black cocktail dress with a hot pink belt around the middle.  I wore it out a few nights, on a dinner date, and on the night my beau proposed.

The other two were horrendous and are likely still sitting on a Goodwill rack.  One of them was this puke colored green and the other was 90% mesh.

  12. I did more than once actually. It was a burgundy & pink bridesmaid dress that my ex sis-in-law had picked out for all her brides maids to wear. & I needed one for a dance. Not the prom tho, cuz I didn't go to it. So I figured since the darn thing cost so much, why not wear it again?! The dances & formal events I wore mine to were church youth functions. No one ever knew. LOL!

  13. Not myself, but three of my four bridesmaids did - a few more than once. It's because it was a pretty summery dress, tealength, sprigs of flowers patterned on it, short sleeve, criss-crossed back, low vee-front, basque waist and nice full skirt. It's just a lovely dress, and I often thought it was the type of dress I would have loved to have!

  14. How about a prom dress as a bridesmaid dress??? I got sick before my BF's wedding and couldnt fit in to the dress I was supposed to wear, I was her only bridesmaid and my prom dress was the right color so I ended up wearing it!

  15. I have.

But to be completely honest, I wore it again for Halloween.

When I went as Carrie at her prom. (ahem).

    : )

  16. I did when it was a black dress I bought on my own. I think its over-rated. I know you want it to look good but all girls complain about it. I am going to have my girls find a simple black dress so they feel comfortable and confident in themselves. Instead of me picking out a horrible color and making them wear something they hate.
