I'm off there for a weekend, 4th sept for 4 nights.

As I have only a short time there, where is to go outside the hotel? Any good bars / restaurants that you can recommend?

You are about 1.5 km from the city centre of Calas De Mallorca, so getting to and from will be in close distance. There you can go shopping, site seeing, and general walking around it's full bodied culture.

A main attraction is the beach and you are 400m the small sandy beach.

The lively Rock Cola bar in the Centro Sol y Mar attracts a young crowd, mixed music and a happy hour that lasts from 20:00 until 01:00.

Mostly British dance music at Jupiter's disco bar only gets into full swing after midnight. Panaramix has good blend of music, but is more Spanish orientated.
