I think Shawn is more original and impressive, but then again the dismounts and landings Nastia does gets her more marks.

I think overall Shawn Johnson is better however this year Nastia Liukin outperformed her in gymnastics I am expecting Shawn Johnson to make a comeback in the 2012 olympics in London

Shawn is so pretty that I don't really care if she is better or worse.

Nastia is a better all-around gymnast, and that Gold of hers in the All-Around is proof.

However, she also has a better balance between strength and flexibility.  Shawn Johnson is definately strong, but the trade off is a little less flexibility than the other gymnasts (check out her beam and floor rountine - she cannot get the height in her splits that Nastia has).  She's still more flexible than I could ever dream of being.  Nastia also has a better sense of balance (take a look at the arm stands on unevens, and her spins on floor exercise), but Shawn has a little more tumbling power.

Performance wise at the Beijing Olympics I think Nastia is better. She won gold in the all-around and 5 medal overall whereas Shawn finish second all-around and 4 medal overall. Anyhow Shawn is the current world champion so maybe she could perform better next time around.

technically speaking, they are #1 and #2 in gymnastics and this could change at any moment, that's how close they are to one another.  I think Shawn is the better floor and vaulter, and Anastasia is by far the best on uneven bars, and edges her out on beam as well.  I guess that's why they finished gold and silver in the AA. Plus they room together and are very good friends, so they both know each other inside and out, no advantage to either one in the mental department.

Neither. They have swapped gold and silver at many competitions. They both have different styles but they are both at almost the exact same level.

Shawn is better at the gymnastics. She has less mistakes and less balance checks. But Nastia is better at sticking her landings. Shawn seems to know exactly what her body can do and cant do. That is apparent on the balance beam. I do believe she could benefit from more Ballet lessons. Shawn is not as graceful as Nastia. I  believe this comes from her ballet and having parent who have been in the gymnastics. Both are very good. Shawn also has room for improvements esp. at landings.
