i think soriano is better if he's healthy but hamilton is better right now cuz of soriano missing so many games this year. i think skill-wise, they both about the same, but the upper egde goes to hamilton in the end

Josh is having a fantastic season and a once in a lifetime Home Run Derby. Alfonso has had several " better than good " years but seems to be injury prone lately. This season Josh is a much better player and if he has 2 or more seasons like this, you can say he is the better player. But right now Soriano shoukd be considered a better player

Josh Hamilton. He hasn't played for three years and all of a sudden he comes back and dominates. He is also a better defender and he's doing it in the AL, which has better pitching.

As an individual player, Hamilton because he's still riding high off his success at the Home Run Derby.  From a team perspective, Soriano has a chance at a championship with the Cubs.
