He's getting setup to begin training in a few weeks and we'd like to start the ball rolling; once he's enlisted, of course....

  1. The military does not set up child support! You have to go to court to have an order of child support. If he doesn't pay then you go back to court and the court can garnish his wage.

It doesn't matter if he is in the military or an Ordinary Joe, child support is a matter of the court system. Why wait for him to enlist? Are you trying to get more money? Take care of it now so whether or not he enlists, you have support for the child.

Note: If he is in violation of a court order the military will make him pay, but you have to go back to court. You can send the court documents to is chain of command.

  2. go through ur local child support office and they will do the rest, sent up child support, serve the other parent and get things done!

  3. If you already have a court order and he is not following the court order you can contact his chain of command. The military will not be the ones to order child support payments.

  4. When he is inprocessing basic training he can set up an allotment.  This allotment comes straight out of his paycheck and goes to whoever he sends the money to now.  All he will need is the same info the state gave him to submit the payments.

  5. the military has squat to do with it.   if he is behind on his child support and there is a bench warrant out on him.. he won't be enlisting anyway.
