  1. The Customer is always right!!!

    Edit:

Duckie I was just quoting an old out-dated business slogan

used for years as part of Customer Service

Which was meant to imply the consumer comes first.

Back in the day when this phrased was used, there use to be a thing called "Customer Service" and even if the customer was  wrong ,the  company policy was to fix it  anyway

because a "happy customer" equaled repeat business

But in the Wal-Mart ,Mc Donald's era those days are long gone

You are lucky nowadays if you drive away with half your order correct, or made to order. That does not mean people/customers are not ,and can be Jerks/Idiots.

  2. It depends on the situation.  If the customer mumbles so much that the employee eventually gives up to make the line move, the customer is at fault.  If the employee hears it wrong, then the employee is at fault.  Overall, though, it is better to find a way to fix the problem than to find the person at which everyone can focus their frustration over the situation.

  3. the employees are always making mistakes with fast food because its mostly teenagers that don't give a flying f*ck! My food is wrong 20% of the time-especially with drive through!

  4. Depends on the mistake.

If a customer orders a burger and fries and gets a McMuffin and an apple pie, then the employees are at fault.

    Was that what you meant?

  5. Your examples vary:

A customer comes in orders a sausge bagel, dosn't specify that he wants egg or cheese.

If he doesn't specify, the clerk should ask.  How else does he/she know what to put on the sandwich.  Whenever there is a choice, the server needs to make sure the order is clear.

Customer orders a number 3 *upsized* complains that he only got a meduim drink . ect

The person MAKING the order failed, here.  because UPSIZED means that they get a large drink, right?

Or my favorite- orders a sausge mcmuffin complains there is no egg, when the sausge egg muffin and sausge muffin are totally different sandwhiches, as they have different wrappers, different way of rigning it up ect

The clerk should make sure they know what the customer really wants, but the customer ought to understand the differences between the sandwiches.  I, personally, would not know what I was ordering, unless I stood and studied the menu, which one doesn't always have time to do, and, frankly, I don't know how you ring things up on your register.  That's NOT my place as a customer.  I also, probably don't know about the different wrappers.  again...that's YOUR job, not mine.

You have to remember you are in customer service.  That means you help out the customer.  You serve them.

Bad day at the office today?
