  1. I always understood this cliche to mean that someone is controlled by someone else.

    For example, imagine a cat holding onto a mouse. The mouse is pinned beneath a paw on the floor. Of course, the mouse will try to move, but each movement causes the cat's claws to dig a tiny bit deeper, increasing the level of control. The cat, if it is a mean cat, may give the impression that it is relaxing, just enough that the mouse feels like it can get away, but as soon as it moves, the cat digs its claws back in.

    Therefore, if someone has "their claws in you," they basically have control over you no matter what. Of course, with a person, this is meant figuratively.  


  2. they dont like you & will find mean things to say about you etc ..they are bullies really..........
