Who's idea was it to set up the EU HQ in Brussels?????

I mean why Brussels??? When was it decided??? "They" had the whole of Europe to choose from so whats so special about there???

Brussels is the perfect location for the EU HQ. It's the center of European banking, and the EU is all about money.

Germany.  Their economy was becoming so strong before the beginning of the end of communist USSR and they believed that if it was to be located in Germany after so many people continued to feel the way they did about the Germans during WWII that somewhere other than Germany as the center for the HQ would be better and more economically and politically wise.  Brussels in a neutral area.  That's why it was chosen.  If Switerland were chosen, another neutral area, too many would think of Swiss banks.  NOT to mention, 40% speak German in Switzerland.  I attend ACTFL conferences and listen to Deutsche Welle and read international magazines and newspapers.  It's not all about America, but I do question the intentions of some groups in the world and are so redneck in their attitudes.
