Question:

Who's liable for lost package?

I ordered a gift from saks.com and had it shipped to my friend for Christmas. Saks.com used Fedex. I wasn't offered an option online to require a signature/leave without signature. Fedex left it on my friend's front porch, my friend was out of state (I didn't know she wasn't home). The package hasn't been seen since. What should I do? Who's liable for the loss? The total cost of gift plus shipping was $230.

  1. In a situation like this get legal help there are loop holes that you do not want to miss.

  2. You could contact FedX or saks but it won't do any good.  Your lose

  3. I would contact Fed Ex.  They should have given the option for a signature before they leave!!

  4. I would contact Saks as well as Fedex and ask their advice.

  5. Saks should have insured the pkg with FedEx for the full amt

    Followup with them

There is a chance you will get satisfaction if Saks will honor you as a customer

    Good Luck
