I was making a turn on road, his house is one house beside corner, was pulling his car off driveway to road, we can't see each other because of the corner.

So my left front knocked into his car's right rear corner.

Thanks

  1. First answer is correct. It is illegal in the UK to reverse into a road, though hardly any police forces enforce this. It is the responsibility of the person entering the road to make sure his way is clear BEFORE proceeding with his/her manouvre. If you have further doubts, give the local police a ring, they will be happy to advise you.

  2. he is at fault because he was entering traffic and it was not safe to do so.  If you were speeding than you might be is some trouble as well.  but he is at fault because he did not make sure the road was safe to enter

  3. First poster is right.  If you are exiting the driveway, then cars on the street have the right of way.

  4. well, in the insurance standpoint you are car one and at fault

  5. IN pA. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO BACK ONTO A HIGHWAY

  6. If he was exiting his driveway he has to yield to any traffic in the road. If he hits a car in the road while exiting his drive he has failed to yield and is at fault.

  7. Typically the rule of thumb is the person that is responsible is the one who is A backing B leaving from a parked position into the roadway.  Those on the roadway already in motion have right of way.
