how can you be shocked or surprised when it is all anyone has talked about for the entire Olympics? it didn't come out of nowhere.

i knew he wus gunna do it so i'm not necessarily shockeed or suprised it's amazing but he's an amazing person

I never knew about him before Athens 2004,and he did pretty well in 2004. So 8 golds was just a matter of time,he bagged 6 already at athens.

I screamed last night during the relay! i was so proud of him, and what he accomplished for the USA

I think everyone should be a little suprised....

Even the most gifted athlets (Jordan and Tiger) have their off moments....To be that clutch, that many times in a row...pretty ridiculous.  

From the .01 victory to the come behind win in the first relay.....definitely shows that most of those races were anything but cakewalks.

Crazy...glad to see he and his teammates pulled out the relay to win his 8th!

i thought he would reach this goal from the beginning. just watching him win gold in all the events...it seemed likely that he would win the 8th one. so no, i am not surprised/shocked, but i sat in front of the tv last night, watching in suspense, and i was very proud when i saw that the US team won!

im just glad he is all done so we can all go back to not caring about swimming for the next 4 years.
