  13. Magic in my opinion was the best point guard of the six (6) options. Mainly because he was gifted with the height and athleticism he can basically play any positions. Had Magic not been infected with the HIV he should have been the all-time assist leader. Unfortunately for him his career was cut short by the virus. And yes Magic is the only point guard mentioned to lead his team to the championship in his very first season (1980). Only PG on the list to have five (5) championships.

If I would rank them in order it will be as follows:

Earvin "Magic" Johnson - the ultimate PG winner. Doesn't have a consistent J but his athleticism and natural smarts cover for those.

John Stockton - top assist guy all-time. Formed one of the best duo of all-time with Karl Malone. Good shooting range and clutch.

Gary Payton - Best defender of this bunch. One time champion (Miami). One of the best of the 90's. Made the Finals 3 times (Sonics 1996, Lakers 2004, Heat 2006).

Jason Kidd - Mr. Triple-Double. Powered the New Jersey resurgence and Finals appearance in 2002 and 2003. Poor shooter but his great basketball IQ and understanding more than makes for it.

Chris Paul - This early Paul have shown tendencies of greatness barring injuries he should have a splendid career and may very well climb the great PGs chart, but for now it's still too early to tell so I have to put him down here.

Steve Nash - Two-time MVP. a prime clutch player of the league. Although his inability to lead his team to the next level eludes him which makes him at the bottom of my ratings.

Your list should have included the Big O Oscar Robertson and Deron Williams (Deron shouldn't be cast out if Paul makes any list, I think their careers will be forever intertwined).

    Hope this helps.
