Who's the best p4p boxer? There are seemingly three options at the top:

The undefeated "Pretty Boy" Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25)

The Mexican legend killer, "Pac-Man" Manny Pacquiao (46-3, 35)

And the also undefeated "Italian Dragon" aka "The Pride of Wales" Joe Calzaghe (45-0, 32)

Which of these guys should rightfully sit atop the p4p rankings?

  1. The italian Dragon is the top guy.

I saw his last fight and he fought so hard all the way to the end. I'm so glad he won!

  2. p4p is really a misnomer. Everyone has a different definition. So I'll define like this: Cleaning out a weight class is how you can become p4p in my book. So, of the three you named only two have cleaned out a division. Not Floyd who has fought 1 or 2 fights and then moved up and still didn't fight the best in the division other than Castillo in light.

It's either Calzaghe  or Pac-Man. I choose Pac-man only because losses have nothing to do with the best p4p! It's the level of competition. And Pac has fought them all.

The greatest boxers of all time have lost but it's what they do when they lose that makes them legends. (Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson et. al.)

  3. for me i can't choose pacquiao because he's been beaten so it's down to the two undefeated fighters. I'd give Floyd the nod over Calzaghe because he's never looked like being beaten in the ring, that said, he needs to step up his level of competition and actually face the best fighters in his division such as cotto, margarito, mosely...and not just a washed up De La Hoya...

If Floyd doesn't do this and Calzaghe beats Jones and then beats Pavlik i'd give the number 1 slot to Calzaghe

  4. According to ring magazine and many experts the best is still Floyd Mayweather but let me break it down for you, in terms of skills no one on this list is better than mayweather, calzaghe doesn t punch,he slaps and he got knocked down by a 43 year old, Manny is a power puncher who lost to a mexican twice the mexican's name is Juan Manuel Marquez. Mayweather on the other hand has actually fought a real competition ( judah, corrales, castillo,de la hoya and hatton) and has the best defensive skills in boxing today.

  5. JC. He has fought tough competition in the last couple of years and right now is the top dog in the game. If he fight RJJ this fall and wins he will move even higher unlike the other two who are fighting people they should easily beat

  6. Floyd Mayweather Jr

  7. Pacman.  Although he has 3 losses.  He has a lot more impressive wins over legendary fighters like Barrera and Morales (two warriors who are sure to be in the Hall of Fame). He worked his way to the top disposing his opponents with impunity.

  8. I would definately have to go with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. followed by Manny Pacquiao, and then Joe Calzaghe.  Mayweather has beaten more world champions throughout his career than either of those guys and his skill level and accomplishments outdo theirs any day of the week.  Pacquiao has beaten a lot of great fighters over the past few years such as; Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Erik Morales.  He is always in an exciting fight and he almost always results as the winner.  Calzaghe has recently beaten the top guys, but the reason why I have him third is because for the majority of his career, he has faced bums.  His past few fights however cannot be ignored such as; the dominant win over Jeff Lacy, the win over Mikkel Kessler, and the win over Bernard Hopkins.  And just to give you a top 4, I'll just say that I have Juan Manuel Marquez as number 4- even though he's coming off a loss, it was very close and could have gone his way, and he recently had beaten Barrera and dominated Rocky Juarez.
