Of all time I would have to say Sugar Ray Robinson. He had it all, speed, brains, power, fitness, agility and despite losing to Jake LaMotta I think he is by far the best ever pound for pound boxer. Currently, after the retirement of Floyd Mayweather Jr I would say Manny Pacquiao is easily om top of the current pound for pound rankings. In the lower divisions he is too strong for his opponents and now at lightweight he is too fast! He is a ridicolously good boxer who possesses all the confidence, charisma and all round skill required to be the best.

your definition seems to be a bit loose. Last time I checked, Sugar Ray Leonard, Money May, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker were still alive, but are retired (or in the case of Mayweather, not active - don't really know how many are taking his retirement seriously)...I think what you meant was that Manny is the best pound 4 pound boxer who is currently active.

But yeah, Manny Pacquiao is the best now. 4 weight World champ...
