  1. Ozzie hands down... fleury is solid.. but he doesnt have the years behind him.

  2. Osgood hands down. im a pens fan and even i admit osgood is better,

  3. I can't believe all of these Osgood supporters!  Fleury has been on fire in these playoffs!  Sure, Osgood has some good numbers, but he makes much less highlight-reel saves because he isn't required to.  Detroit's defense is highly efficient, and does not give up many shots, and when they do give up shots, they're usually from far out where the goalie can see it better, so that's why his sv% is slightly better than Fleury's.  If the Wings thought Turco was tough, wait 'til Fleury takes the ice in Joe Louis... he'll be a wall, and he'll also be hoisting the cup.

  4. At the moment, it's Fleury. Dude's only lost two games & gave up such little goals.

  5. Hard to say since neither has really been tested that much so far.  by then end of these playoffs we'll know beyond a shadow of doubt, but until then i think i'll go with Osgood.  Just because of history.

  6. osgood has experince

but fleury is getting it now

  7. "You" said it.  Osgood has two Cups (one of those playing every game of the playoffs), two All-Star appearances (including this year), top 15 all-time in wins, and one of the best winning percentages of the last 30 years.  Has he played back-up at times?  Heck yeah - so has Yzerman and a dozen other Wings, at their respective positions, when the team asked for it.  Osgood has a great career.

Fluery is having a great year.

  8. Ask again in two weeks and we will know for sure.

As for now, Osgood was a backup goaltender up until a month ago.

  9. that "Backup" also was in your all - star game. so how do you figure that?

  10. Fleury was in danger of losing his job to Ty Conklin.

    TY "FREAKING" CONKLIN.

Osgood isn't a HOF candidate but no GM in the league would take Fleury for a single game over Osgood.

In some respects, I'd even say Fleury is a bust. He was the #1 overall pick in 2002 draft, ahead of Eric Staal, Nathan Horton, Nikolai Zherdev, Thomas Vanek, Milan Michalek, Dion Phaneuf, Jeff Carter, Dustin Brown, Brent Seabrook, Steve Bernier, Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf, Brent Burns, Ryan Kesler, Mike Richards, and Corey Perry.

To his credit, Fleury has been solid if unspectacular in the playoffs. He really hasn't faced any tough situations and the Penguins have supplied plenty of offense to make his job much easier. Goalie stats are going to look pretty good when they're playing with a lead, and that's exactly why nobody is talking about Fleury for the Conn Smyth.

  11. i like them both,  a lot, but im going to go with fleury

  12. Fleury by a long shot(well maybe not a long shot)...there has been games in this postseason that Fleury has had to play extreme,y well for the Penguins to win the game...I can't recall one game this postseason that Osgood has had to really step up and play out of his mind...it's gotta go to Fleury

  13. Right now it would be Fleury by a slight margin but for the career it would be Osgood.  Look at the stats.  However I think both will play well in the finals.  I am looking forward to it.  Let's Go Pens!

  14. Well Osgood has a career to back up who he is. Fleury has been doing great lately, but is just truly maturing. Thing to remember also is Fluery has a great defense in front of him. I'd assume Osgood does as well, but my point is no one talks about how little he is playing the puck. It makes it a little easier for him and shows the skill of the team, and I'm not trying to take away from him as he has come up big when he needed to. If you go by just the series then I guess we will see soon enough, but don't assume the winner is better just because they won. Check all the numbers.

  15. Gimmie a break Fleury may be doing well, but not even close to Osgood over any significant (season-length) time period.

  16. Wizard of Oz baby!

  17. kirk mclean

  18. osgooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

    is

    gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

  19. Osgood has never had a losing season in his career even when with St Louis and the Isles. He also has a Cup. Fleury hasnt been around long enough to know yet. But if I had to pick I would say Osgood at this point in time.
