  1. I like the way Sidebottom at the moment, took 4 wickets against Kiwis yesterday... but yeah I guess it all depends on condition and location.

  2. I'd go with, Dale Steyn. Because like other bowling legends he also has shown ability to take wickets in Indian subcontinents flat pitches whereas, Ryan Sidebottom only seems to does the job where the ball is moving little bit like pitches in England, New Zealand etc.

  3. If the wicket is flat then Dale Steyn is in.

If the wicket is helpful for bowlers and conditions are good for swing bowling then Sidebottom is in.

I think Steyn is slightly better. He produces some unplayable deliveries. He is inaccurate, can misuse the new ball by leaking too many runs but he is a wicket taking bowler.

  4. I would say they are equally good. Montitude has made some good points.

  5. As above - it depends on conditions. You said answering one of my questions earlier that the conditions were ideal for Sidebottom today - overcast with the ball swinging. Also he gives you the less common left hand front line swing bowler bringing it into the right hander. But if its sheer pace you want, or if the conditions are more batsman friendly, then I'd want Steyn.

  6. well i'm gonna say Sidebottom is the better bowler for sure!! (yes i'm hoping that pathetic piece of sucking up will be enough for Kook to give me the 10 points! LOL)

in all honesty tho, having seen very little of the 2 thus far i would back Steyn as he seems to be able to take wickets in all conditions and againist all opposition and personally i cant wait for him to tour here so i can get a really good prolonged look at him, having said that tho, when conditions a made for swing bowling, then Side-*** is a very handy player to have in your side, he could be a big thorn in our side in the 2009 ashes

  7. Dale steyn

  8. Sidebottom. His 4 for 5 in 9.2 overs against New Zeland was amazing. Steyn may be quick but he is not consistent as Sidebottom. He lacks the accuracy of Sidebottom too.

But if possible i would have both of them in my team. It will be a lethal pace combination.

  9. Finally a question of yours which hasnt been deleted! lol

my pick would be Ryan Sidebottom, hes doing fantastic in tests and can vary his pace better than Dale Steyns in my opinion.

  10. i think its steyn....because he can threw ball at random places and make u tip the ball so the catcher can catch it

  11. I think both are good bowlers and able to swing the ball.

Sidebottom is really good under overcast conditions and also

when conditions favor swing. Steyn is fast and can be lethal at

times when he is in rhythm. It is hard to pick who is be better

but I go with Steyn for his pace.

  12. I consider Dale Steyn as the best.

  13. Ryan Sidebottom!...hehe

  14. Dale Steyn,  the best

  15. They're both excellent bowlers but i would have to go with Dale Steyn.

    in my OPINION...

I feel that Ryan Sidebottom has just established himself as an excellent bowler and he needs to keep going at it. If you look at him about a year ago..i don't think he even believed in himself.

Dale Steyn established himself as a bowler a while ago. He knew how good he was and worked really hard to keep his place on the team.

I remember his words in an interview he said he not only wanted to play for South Africa but he wanted to make sure he secured a place in the team permanantly and that when he retired he wanted someone to have to come in and fill his shoes.

Dale Steyn's detirmination and willingness in my OPINION means that he's leaving himself some room to improve..he hasn't reached his peak.. but his still one of the best...sidebottom may have just reached his peak.

Maybe in a year i may choose Sidebottom but right now it's Dale

  16. steyn

  17. i am totally impressed by side bottom ,and id like to say him ,but dale is bowling in India for the last couple of months where conditions are really tuff and not bowler friendly for most of the time  ,id say dales struggling at the moment in IPL  .....soooo id say sidebottom for now ! cos hes swinging the ball way lovely
