Overall, I would go with CP3 because his leadership abilities are better than Deron Williams.

CP3 definitely comes out on top... I mean Deron is still a very young and talented PG and will be one of the best for years to come but Chris paul for sure has the edge between the two players... CP3 simply proved his dominance when he finished 2nd in MvP votings, lead the league in assists (11.6) and steals (2.7)!

How are people making the arguements that Deron is better when in comparison CP3 gets you more points (paul 21.1 deron 18.8), assists (paul 11.6 deron 10.5), rebound (paul 4 deron 3), and steals every single night and happens to turn the ball over way less... Paul has more athleticism and is quicker up and down the floor and you can't really compare two players face to face when they played eachother three times during the season! Between the two Guards CP3 is also the better defensive player and that's one aspect of his game that makes him an MVP candidate... Paul has quicker hands and is known for picking the defense... He gets 2.7 Steals per game compared to Deron's 1.1 Steals which obviously gives him the higher hand. CP3 finished 7th on this year's Defensive player of the year votings (link) while Deron williams was not even voted to the Top 20 players in that category! Paul was also selected to the All-Defensive second team this year and unlike some people think this guy can play physical at any time and that gives him the advantage over other PGs in the league...!

Just compare the two players side by side and the difference will be obvious...!

I definitely have to say Chris Paul because he has a lot less offensive power when compared to D-Will. CP3 managed to take a team of underdeveloped and supposedly down and out stars and turned them into a deadly playoff contender. DWill and the Jazz on the other hand, were expected to reach the Finals with several good players like Boozer and AK-47. They had high expectations and had already build a stable group. Chris Paul made gold from straw while Deron Williams is still stuck in the same position as before. Expect CP3 to be the best NBA player next season. Sure, on one-on-one match-ups D-will has better stats but its the degree of difficulty and playmaking ability that sets CP3 apart.

Right now, without question the answer is Chris Paul. He averaged more points and assists then Deron Williams, he is a better passer without looking at the stats, and he is a much better scorer. Chris Paul can lead a franchise because he can score 43 points as hes done before this season, but he can also dish out 21 assists.

We really need to stop jumping on the CP3 bandwagon. This may be his only good season or only his first. Who knows. Either way, it is tougher to guard a stronger PG than it is a fast one. Deron is more physical with exceptional speed wheras Paul is the exact opposite. Deron Williams is much more hardened and versatile, if  you ask me. Sure, Paul brought back a dead franchise, but without Deron Williams, where do you go? Boozer becomes a flop, and the offense doesnt work. Same with Paul. Deron also has showed up Paul before, settling that dispute. So, in my opinion, Deron is a better PG and will be even better given a year or two. But who knows. Chris Paul has more potential. So, we'll see.

DERON Williams easily he owned chris paul when the jazz played the hornets and deron satats are better deron owns cp3, and DWill was picked before chirs paul in the draft. Go Illinois (DWIll was a former illinois,(2005 NCAA champs))
