I'm talking statistically here :). Not favorites.

Also, who do you think will win the season opener?

  1. Michigan is the better team.  But the better team doesn't always win.

Utah is a Mid-Major out to make a splash and Michigan is already making rebuilding year excuses.   Utah by 4

  2. I like Rodriguez, but who is this experienced QB you're talking about?!?

    Utah, no question.

  3. michigan

  4. I think Utah, but that's because Michigan is kind of Penn States "rival" and i love Penn State football

  5. Man, Michigan is going to pull away as the game progresses.

They have an expierenced qb in running the spread, true he's no Pat White, but has the tools to get it done. Michigan also is a traditional

running program, this fits RRod quite nicely.

Also Michigans defense is thier strong point, this is also a favorable

thing to have when your installing a new offensive scheme, keep you in striking distance in most games.

    Final Michigan 44

    Utah 10.

Michigan only had 12 returning starters with or without RRod, so it was a rebuild year for Michigan anyway, if you consider a National

Recruiting program rebuilding, its more or less re-stacking, just not as stacked than normal, as to compare USC only returns 1 more than Michigan with 13. So in truth, an expierenced qb in the spread, running game didnt take too much of a hit, the o-line took a hit, but they was fairly deep in that regard anyhow as in every year , this team will surprise most people this year, RRod will get a much faster start out the gate with Michigan than he did at WVU. He's not going to have a losing season, too much talent.

  6. Hi Lauren. I think Michigan has more natural talent but Utah might be the better team right now. Coach Rodriguez at Michigan is teaching a completely new offense to the players there and is trying to run it with people he didn't recruit and might not be totally suited to it. so..I think they'll struggle for awhile but they'll hang with Utah on natural ability alone. Plus they're at home so I think they pull out a win....and this is a Buckeye fan saying this, lol.

  7. Utah will Pound Michigan

  8. Utah...........hook em...

  9. I'm not impressed by Utah at all. As far as I'm concerned, we might as well play Purdue or Northwestern twice. I wouldn't be surprised if Utah makes it a close game with us, but in all likelihood, this is a blowout victory for Michigan. I mean, the Wolverines are going to be so incredibly motivated to win this game after what happened against App State last season, and because RR doesn't want to lose his first game as head coach. The game is at the Big House, and lord knows how tough it is for opposing teams to play at the Big House. Michigan is ten times more talented then the Utes. Kyle Whittingham is a good head coach, but he ain't half of what Rich Rodriguez is. And finally, Utah has no defense to speak of aside from Steve Tate (who was the MVP of Utah’s Poinsettia Bowl win).

The analysts talk alot about Utah's spread offense and how potent it will be. Some analysts have compared this Utah team to last years Oregon team. That’s bullcrap if you ask me. Utah went 9-4 overall last year and 5-3 in the Mountain West conference. Hello, that’s like going 6-7, 2-6 in the Big Ten! Utah is a mid major program. UNLV crushed them last season (27-0), they only beat Navy by 3 points and Louisville by 9 points, and they lost to two mediocre teams in Oregon State and Air Force. Sure they have an impressive QB (Brian Johnson) and a pretty good TB (Darrell Mack) but Michigan has a terrific defense returning to keep Johnson and Mack in check. If they have any good receivers, we both know CB’s Morgan Trent and Donovan Warren will handle them.

Utah always plays a bunch of panzies, and they are in for a rude awakening on August 30th. I say Michigan wins this won by a score of 28-10 or something.

  10. I am going for UTAH !!!

  11. it all comes down to recruiting.  Utah can not pull the talent that Michigan can. i also think Michigan wants another Appalachian st. mishap.  So i go with Michigan with new starters then Utah.
