  1. parliament runs the government. everything belongs to the queen but she doesnt run the government.

  2. Gordon Brown

  3. The prime minister is the head of the government.

The Queen is the head of state.

  4. If you mean who is the current British prime minister, it is Gordon Brown, who took office since June 27, 2007. You if you mean who is the current "figure head" of the United Kingdom, it is Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. In practice, political power is exercised today through Parliament and by the Prime Minister and Cabinet. The Queen's powers are exercised upon the advice of her prime minister. She does however possess certain reserve powers which she may exercise at her own discretion.

  5. Elizbeth II

  6. Yes a Prime Minister is a ruler - he is elected and he chooses his Cabinet who run various national departments. The Queen is the Head of State and head of our church - the Church of England though she fulfills no political role, instead she is a wonderful ambassador who represents us brilliantly all over the world and receives world leaders here when they visit. The Prime Minister is currently Gordon Brown, who in fact, we did not vote for (I think they first time ever) because he inherited the Prime Ministership from Tony Blair. Thus far, he hasn't done a very good job.
