I know Courtney Walsh has the most ducks - but I reckon there's been worse batsman than him. Who's the worst to have played at least 20 or so Tests?

  1. Chris Martin of course

average of 2 speaks for itself.

  2. who cares. Test cricket is dying out these days!

My vote goes for sunil Joshi though!

    CA walsh: with 43 ducks

  3. Chris Martin of course! He's played quite a few tests, and even then he's not been able to improve on his game! Honorable mentions include Walsh, Mbangwa, and McGrath!

  4. who knows

  5. i read his name in cricinfo.com column. i forget his name. i think hes belong to England and has good record in 1st class

  6. There are many interesting test match batsmen who can be considered the worst. Some of them are given below and you can have your choice.

CF Root, England, 3 tests, 0 runs.

Ehteshamuddin, Pakistan, 5 tests, 2 runs.

KJ Silva, Sri Lanka, 7 tests, 6 runs.

Brett N Schultz, South Africa, 9 tests, 9 runs.

    John D F Larter, England, 10 tests, 16 runs.

Chris Martin, New Zealand, 43 tests, 74 runs.

BS Chandrasekhar, India, 58 tests, 167 runs.

Glenn McGrath, 124 tests, 641 runs.

Courtney Walsh, West Indies, 132 tests, 936 runs.

  7. The worst I've ever seen was Pommie Mbangwa (HS: 8, Ave: 2.00), but he only played 15 tests. He made Courtney Walsh look quite talented in comparison.

For players who played at least 20 tests, then it has to be Chris Martin (HS: 12no, Ave: 2.38, from 43 matches). He faces an average of 6 balls per innings, and has only scored 74 runs in 61 test innings... and in the recent home/away series against England he had 11 innings in 6 tests, scoring 10 runs with a highest score of 5 and an average of 2.00. Utterly hopeless.

Walsh was an awful lot better than either of those two.

  8. last time i checked Courtney walsh's job was as a wicket taker not a run maker, id go with Gavin Hamilton (who was an all rounder) two innings for england and two ducks

  9. shahid Afridi, he spoiled his name after playing test cricket~
