Who's this boxer andy lee? i just caught his name on russ anber's show?

Andy Lee is an Irish boxer from Co. Limerick. He was an excellent amatuer and qualified for the Athens Olympics in 2004 only just missing out on bringing home a medal. He turned pro in 2005. He's a middleweight and is trained by Manny Stewart. Despite his loss recently, he is an excellent southpaw fighter who is destined for big things and at european if not world level. I have seen a lot of his fights both in the US and Ireland and he has very good boxing skills, there is a lot of debate recently about him, John Duddy and Matthew Macklin ( All Irish Middleweights ) as to who is the most likely Irish world title contender and popular opinion is that Lee is the most likely prospect. saw his last fight against Mexican Brian Vera,and to be honest he was a disappointment and Vera poss a new star.He's trained by Manny Steward,who's been hyping him up as the new big star he has,well if he is I didnt see it when he fought Vera,now that guy has some real potential!!

He is/was a middleweight prospect trained and managed by Emanuel Steward.  Before last week, he was undefeated and was seen by many as "the future of the division..."  That was until he got TKO'd against Brian Vera from the third season of "The Contender."  He can still be something in the middleweight division in the future if he can bounce back from his first professional defeat, but he will not get a rematch with Vera because Vera's promoter turned it down.  One thing is for certain; Lee was not worthy of all the hype that he was getting before his first loss, I mean Steward even said that by the end of this year, Lee would be ready for the champ, Kelly Pavlik.  Steward was in for a rude awakening!  Some people questioned the stoppage because Lee was throwing back at the time it was stopped but Vera was really busting Lee up and if Lee's trainer, Manny Steward had no problem with the stoppage, then I guess I don't either.
