Russia will clearly win the early frontal attacks. If the Georgians have a stomache for guerilla warfare and insurgency it could be 100 years.

Most people have not had proper training in how to win a war. But here are the real rules.

There are no points for a kill.

Kills may help or hurt your cause.

The side that gives up last wins.

The best strategy to win an insurgency is to get the government of the  country that is attacking you to announce that the war is almost over. Then plan a devastating coordinated nationwide attack. The demoralized citizens of the attacking country will lose confidence in their government and demand a pull out. It may be happening in Iraq that way just now.

georgia is putting up a good fight, they took out 40 tanks and 10 aircraft im not sure how many foot soldiers though. Georgia is also getting 2000 reinforcement soldiers from iraq so its not gonna end anytime soon. russia will win in the end tho

Russia is being the aggressor right now , but you have to understand they have been planning this for months, their goal is to re-establish the former soviet union. We are going to have to step in or look like cowards

Russia is not side of the conflict.

The sides are S. Ossetia and Georgia.

I hope Ossetians wins and will receive possibility to peacefully live on their land without treat of being overwhelmed as nation by Georgians.

And I hope that Saakashvili - present president of Georgia will stand at international court with charges on violations rights of humanity. He doing exectly same what Slobodan Miloshevic and Radovan Karadjic are charged for - mass murdering of civilians.
