Who's would have made a big difference to the present state of the Philippines?

Question

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Aquino. Had he lived I truly believe he would have made an enormous difference in the Philippines.

Probably not but he did give an inspiration for people to fight.. I think that Marcos could solve the present state of the Philippines only if Martial Law was not declared and if he didn't became corrupt.. All of them are anyways..

Could be possible. Who knows, in another dimension, Ninoy lived and Marcos did not declare Martial Law.

However, the past is there to serve as lessons. The present is more important than all past combined.

Maybe, maybe not.  Who can say what he would have turned out had he lived?  He was a politician and most often, politicians become changed men.  Aquino was young and although he made a promise not to enter politics again after his exile, who can tell he won't change his mind?  No, he wasn't after power but would he have stood by and do nothing?  He would ultimately be dragged into politics just to stop Marcos.  At that time, he was the only person who could defeat Marcos hence his execution.  Anyway, Aquino was a martyr to millions of Filipinos.  He was the link that brought down the Marcoses and regained for us our freedom.  I'd like to think Aquino died a timely death.  He died free of guilt, of graft and corruption.  He may have his share of faults but what man would be so impeccable?

well, of course, the corrupt people in the government... meaning if they only concentrate first in making the Philippines a better place, there will be no more hunger!  Imagine, lots of people nowadays commit suicide due to hunger and poverty.
