  1. Yeah tough one to answer.  First off, 4 weeks was pretty excessive if you ask me, but England will be their toughest game in that span and I think they can handle them pretty easily even without Burger.

I think Skinstad will come in.  They may go for the extra experience just because it is England.  Skinstad's still got the goods.

I wont lie though, I really hope England win this game (even though I don't think they have even a slight chance).  I would absolutely LOVE to see South Africa play Australia in the Quarter Finals and watch them cut the Wobblies to pieces.  I put a bet on a New Zealand vs South Africa Final though so I want the Boks to beat England... kind of a no win situation!!!

  2. Very hard question to answer as the Boks don't appear to have a specialist openside in their squad after Burger.  A bit like the All Blacks if they lost McCaw.  I think, looking at the squad, they are going to have to play Wickus Van Heerden in place of Burger.  The only other option is to put Rossouw (where he has played quite a bit for the Bulls) to flanker and Bob Skinstad to 8.  Seems no matter what they do they will miss Burger as his presence at breakdowns is huge, and the Boks aren't flush with loose forward talent.  My prediction is that Van Heerden will play and Skinstad will come onto the bench for the big games while Burger is suspended.

  3. Ah well, it was pretty embarrassing for the defending champs on the 14th in Paris. 0-36. Seriously embarrassing.

van Heerden and Smith came in as flankers and Rossouw stayed where he was.

About the predictions for the final - I know the way the things are shaping up - there want be an AB v. Wallbies final, but would have loved to see one. Will have to settle for a SF now.

Another thing, I don't think the Boks would have cut the Wallabies to ribbons in any match much less in the WC.

You really should know better than to underestimate them. Just take look at how many times they have won the Cup and have put the ABs out of action. Just too many times.
