  1. lol hm.

i do it by how many kids !

    1 kid/6$ per hour

    2 kids/7$ per hour

    and so on.

but it depends how old you are

liek if its a huge babysitting service then thtas a bad route :P

but if your like a teenager looking for money its good

and i also make my own business cards and send them ut to people in my neighbourhood.

    i get plenty calls (:

and alot of peopel say they hired me bcause there old babysitter asked for too much money .. such as 8 dollars an hour

  2. It really depends on how many hours you plan to work, what you can do for the kids and how many kids are you in charge of. Other factors are:  Location (are you babysitting at your home or the employers) and Location (are you babysitting in an area where the people have $$$$ or just $$) :)

I pay my babysitter (who had 10 years of experience)minimum wage per hour, 40 hours a week & its taxed (W2 form).  She babysits 1 child (infant), cleans baby's area and toys and washes/folds clothes. She also reads to my child, feeds, gives child a bath and plays games.

If she drove, had a degree and 'educates' my child, I would pay $10-$15 an hour. My friend in the city pays $15,an hour, to a college student who speaks French exclusively. If she was a live-in babysitter the going rate is $300 plus room (12 hours a day/ 6 days a week).

However, if its off the books the going rate (where I am)  is $5.00 to $6.00 an hour. This rate is also for persons (to include the 15 year old kid next door) working less than 40 hours and just watching/ feeding one child regadless of age.

This may not sound like much, but unemployment is up and its hard to find a decent job. Let's face it, most parents want a sitter who is 'cheap' for their loved one.  You can get many phone calls if you are cheap...but if you are not professional you will not get repeat business.

  3. my first time babysitting, i got paid $10/hour for babysitting two kids who were like 7 and 10.  at the time i had never babysat for anyone else and i got the job because of a recommendation from another family saying that i was a responsable person.  not a whole lot of people call me asking me to babysit their kids.  i personally was shocked they were offering me $10/hour.  i think it really depends on how many kids and their ages.  going rate seems to be about 7 or 8 dollars.  hope that helps!

  4. 7 bucks is usual

  5. $10 for 2-6 years of age

    and $8 for 7-11

  6. i babysit around once a week

i usually get 7 bucks an hour, but the m ost i got was 10 since there were three kids at ages 3 5 and 6. ppl dont usually call me if they dont no me, i usually have the same jobs or so every week ...hope i helped!

  7. Need to charge by age. Younger kids take more work, you may just want to watch older kids. And depend on if you provide the food or not, where you live (do people make a lot of money) I'm charging $110 and i'm providing the food. And they are school age kids just out for the summer.

  8. Hello,

It is nice you are interested in babysitting, its great! I charge $6 per hour and $7 per hour for 2 kids. I once made $55 which is the most ive ever made. Yeah I get alot of calls. I am babysitting Tuesday/Wensday for a baby and Thursday night for a 3 year old.

    Good luck!

  9. well most babysitters charge 15 an hour but i think thats expensive. i charge 8 dollars for 1 kid. 10 for 2 kids. and 12 for 3 kids.

  10. 10 an hour

    4 kids

  11. I work 30 hour weeks and get paid $5 an hour for two pre-teen kids. With the economy in trouble, asking for more than $6 will guarantee that you won't get the job. I once got lucky and had a lady offer my $7.50 an hour, but I had to take care of three kids for her and she was desperate. The thing about babysitting is that if you do a good job, parents will suggest you to other parents - meaning you'll get more gigs. But babysitting isn't as popular as it once was since people don't trust others like they used to. :(

    Good luck though! :)

  12. I charge $7-8.

But I have lots of experience. I was a nanny to a 3 and 5 year old for 6weeks.

    I'm 15.
