  1. I am...but i dont have the money to go every weekend (i wish i did though cuz i would) I live in the SF bay area.

  2. im just getting into it... bought some cheap skiis/boots/poles from my friend

I live in VA and their is a resort near me where a special season pass is less than $200...

two quick pieces of advice... gloves and boots are EXTREMELY important... make sure they are comfortable

if you have the money, invest in a waterproof jacket / pants

  3. I love skiing. In fact up until this year I was publishing a ski newspaper. But it got too expensive so I dumped it in favor of building up my web pages instead.

Please pay me a visit at: www.sierraskinews.com

I also have a Yahoo message group I would appreciate you joining. Information is on the page.

I live near the Lake Tahoe region in California. It's supposed to snow all this next week.

  4. I would love to go out every weekend,  but I don't have the time.  I live in Madison, Wisconsin, so there isn't really great skiing here.  I was born in Utah, so if we stayed there, then I guess I would go skiing more!

  5. I live in NJ and go to PA to ski since I do ski patrol there on the weekends.

The best skiing in the US is out west WY, CO, UT, NV.  VT and ME are best on the east coast.

  6. evry weekend, and breaks. sometimes i skip for skiing. and i live in elicotville, new york. near HOLIDAY VALLEY. i've been a regular for prob. 9 years and i luv it.

  7. i snowboard.

    i used to ski though!

  8. Yep....skied all my life.

Live in Utah now. Best powder in America.

  9. I like to ski as much as I can,

    I Manage a ski/snowboard shop.

It is more than a hobby, I live in CT and ski mostly in VT.

Advice: stick with it and take some lessons from a professional.

  10. thanks for the 2 points

  11. I used to ski, now I snowboard. All you folks that live near great resorts in the US do not realise how lucky you are, they are all beautiful.

It is said that you havent skied until you`ve skied in Scotland, with its icy, rocky slopes on minute and deep powder the next minute, thick fog and then sun and gale force winds.

But I love it and I go whenever I can, ever weekend if there is snow!

  12. I like skiing it's the best sport EVA!

  13. Yes, I'm an unashamed ski addict! When I lived in New Zealand I had a season pass for Mount Ruapehu in the North Island and I have all my own gear. I now live in the UK and forfeit summer holidays in order to ski as much as possible! Last 2 years we have been to the French Alps - Courchevel, Meribel, La Plagne, Les Arcs. In 4 weeks time we're off to Whistler, Canada, for a fortnight and I can't wait!

You didn't say where you live, so I'm not sure what advice to offer you re ski resorts. If you're keen to make ski-ing a regular hobby though you definitely need your own gear - it's so much easier and better to have your own stuff, and you'll save money quite quickly by not having to hire gear. Good ski shops will have a rent-to-buy scheme where you can hire different boards or skis which you may be interested in buying, then you get the hire fee you have paid deducted from the price of the skis when you buy them. Also, if you live in Europe, you can get very very cheap last-minute deals if you hold your nerve and wait until a few days before you want to go - will save you loads of cash if you don't mind which resort you go to. Good websites are ifyouski.co.uk and igluski.co.uk

    Have fun!!

  14. I live in San Fran. I have a season pass at Squaw Valley. I don't think I could ever leave that place. I LOVE skiing.

  15. I ski.  I'm from wisconsin, there are alot of HXC skiers in the Midwest.

  16. I ski for my high school team so we are on the hill four days a week training/racing. it can be a nobby but for us its more of a lifestyle, our world revolves around it while the ground is white. U dont need to b really into skiing like that to enjoy it but some of us ake is to a whole other level. Live in Michigan ("America's High-Five" i mean just look at it!) but if you dont live in a place that gets much natural snowfall i would have a hard time seeing u get into the sport seriously
