I remember Mike Gatting playing the paddle sweep before Sachin Tendulkar made his Test debut! Where people get such c**p (about Sachin or Dhoni being the inventors) amazes me (and I'm Indian)! As far as the reverse sweep goes, the first person I can remember playing it was Jonty Rhodes, but Mark Waugh attempted it once or twice soon after.
