  1. If you can get Virgin at 20MB it will be 20MB unlike ADSL at 24MB which will probably never reach 24MB in reality.

I have also used Tiscali and AOL; they were both reliable (despite the rumours), but if I had to choose between the 2 I would go for Tiscali.

In your situation I would recommend Virgin.

    Good luck.

  2. hi there, the fact that it is fibre optics makes no difference reallly, 20mb connection is easily within the limits of a standard Copper cable, Fibre-optics only really come in when the internet speed reaches 1000mb or 1gb.

Now, generally, the internet companies say upto 20mb or whatever that number is. Now this number all depends on the amount of people on the internet at the point. it just means that you will get a greater amount of priorty, for e.g if there was someone with a 2mb connection, and you had a 20 mb connection, and lots of people were surfing the net at that point, then the person with 2mb will most likely get about 100kb/s  and the person with 20mb will get about 1000kb/s. But you will only ever achieve 20mb when there is noone on the internet, and that isnt going to happen in reality.

  3. you have verizon in the uk? that is the best over in the us
